Meditate your way to Success!

Meditation is for everyone ..

It’s a very common misconception that meditation is a practise only for those on spiritual paths or looking for enlightenment. Meditation is beneficial for everyone! 

So what is meditation? 

Meditation can be defined as a technique that is intended to encourage a heightened state of awareness and focused attention. Meditation also changes consciousness which is proven to have a huge number of benefits on your psychological wellbeing.

Meditating can be done seated or lying down, its best to have a quiet space without distractions however silence isn’t nesacary – I wish someone had told me this as I learnt in silence and it has taken a long time for me to undo this and be able to meditate with background noise. 

Best Practice …

Meditation can be 5 minutes or several hours – both are powerful! Say for example you are at work, you are having a bad day and feel overwhelmed, stressed, emotional or on the verge of losing your temper, jumping in the car or finding a quiet space on your break and doing a 5-10 minutes calming meditation will help you shift consciousness and change the course of your day.   The best meditation practice will fit into your daily routine and shouldn’t need prior planning, extensive staging or the need to sacrifice any other commitments. 

For those wishing to meet with spirit guides, journey or reach heightened spiritual connection longer meditations particularly before bed or ones you play through the night are often best.

There are many types of meditation, guided, binaural beats, chanting, mala beads meditation and many more – I recommend trying different methods to find which works best for you but beginners do tend to find guided meditations the easiest, I use YouTube as a source as there are so many and are clearly labelled for best use I.e stress release, energy boosting, sleep aid etc The app Headspace is also a fantastic tool for beginners. 

Im often asked how often we should meditate, this is a tricky question as it really is the more you do the more you gain but as a minimum I would suggest once a week, when I meditate daily I see massive growth in my business and personal success and I feel elevated and connected to spirit on a much higher level but ill be completely honest and say that sometimes this just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle and as previously mentioned the best practice should never feel like a chore.
